January 2017

Happy 2017! A new year means a clean slate. Everywhere I turn friends and family are talking about their resolutions or goals for 2017. Don’t get me wrong, setting goals for the day, week, month, year, whatever are important. I tend to lose motivation on my resolutions so this year I wanted to do something a little different. While I still want to set attainable goals, I decided to create monthly goals so I don’t get overwhelmed.  I figure by sharing them with you, I will be more motivated to achieve my goals.

Be Consistent
My first goal for January is to publish a new blog post once a week. My life is really busy right now but continuing to grow my blog is important to me. I want to share my thoughts and loves with the world. I may even be able to help a person or two.

Be Present
I would like to spend less time on my phone. I’ve notice that I get very anxious if I leave my phone at home to go the store or even leaving in on the charger in another room. I find this absolutely ridiculous and I want to spend more time talking to people around me instead of being glued to my phone.

Be Healthy
My final goal for January is to drink more water. I find that some days, I will go hours or even a whole day without drinking more than a glass or two of water. Obviously, this is incredibly unhealthy and I want to take better care of myself. I got a new 24 oz water bottle for Christmas that keeps water cold for 12 hours. My goal is to refill and drink at least 3 bottles of water.

I decided to start small for January and only focus on a few goals. In order to remind me of my goals, I’ve written then down right next to my computer so I see them every morning. Let me know what your resolutions for 2017, or just January, in the comments below. Here’s to making 2017 better than last year!

January Loves

How is it already January 31st tomorrow?! This month went by so quickly. I can hardly believe we are already a month into 2016. This year, I want to share more of my favorite things. I love watching these videos on YouTube and reading blog posts dedicated to favorites so in the off chance you are as nosy as me, here are my favorites from January.

Kate Spade Bag

I got this bag for Christmas and never leave on a shopping trip without it! It’s very structured, which I love and is big enough for my essentials, but not huge enough to pile it full of junk I don’t need. The neutral taupe color is great because it goes with anything I’m wearing.

Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I am so behind the bandwagon on this. My best friend sent this to me for my birthday last year and I just now got around to reading it. I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to like it simply because it’s an emotional story. However, I loved it! It’s emotional, raw and real which makes it an easy book to read. I don’t think I will be watching the movie however. That might be a little too emotional for me!

Golden Peach Sparkle

Everyone knows that I am obsessed with Bath and Body Works candles. Seriously, I have over 11 jars that are empty and need to be cleaned out (tutorial coming soon!). It’s kind of hoarding and I am fully aware of this but the jars are so handy! The Peach Bellini candle is one of my all time favorites and this Golden Peach is very similar. If you love fruity candles, you NEED this in your life!

Shea Body Butter

I’m very picky when it comes to lotions and body butters. I hate the greasy, sticky feeling that a lot of products leave behind. This Shea Body Butter from The Body Shop is an all time favorite! I love the subtle smell and it’s so moisturizing. It does have a bit of a greasy feeling but quickly soaks in to my skin.

I live in beanies in the winter. Not only do they keep my ears warm but they are so adorable! I got this blue metallic one last year from Kohls. I’ve been wearing it almost everyday it’s been cold, which has been pretty frequent this month.

Dove Dry Shampoo

I only recently started using dry shampoo. I used to wash my hair every other day or so and it was messing with my hair. I decided to try and go at least 2 days between washing my hair. I grabbed this dry shampoo a few months back but only recently began using it consistently. The smell is great and it doesn’t leave a residue in my hair. Plus, it’s drugstore and inexpensive!

Burt’s Bees Mango Lip Balm

This is one of my all time favorite lip balms. Not only is the smell amazing but it moisturizes my lips for longer than 5 minutes. A lot of times I find myself reapplying lip balm after about 5-10 minutes because my lips feel dry. This Burt’s Bees one, however, keeps my lips feel moisturized in the dry winter weather.

Making a Murderer

I know everyone is talking about this docuseries but I had to mention it. I am a lover of crime drama so when I first saw this pop up on Netflix, I was intrigued. I’ll be honest, the first episode is kind of boring. But stick with it! The rest of the series completely sucked me in. I literally binged watched the entire series in one weekend. The best and worst part of the show, is not knowing what I believe actually happened. It really is a mystery!

Tell me what you love in the comments. I love trying new things. Plus I’m really nosy!
