7 Binge-Worthy Shows on Netflix

One thing you should all know about me is that I love Netflix. I’ve had it for years and could easily live without cable. Over the past few years, I’ve noticed that I tend to watch the same shows over and over again, intermixed with new shows and movies. I’ve watched these shows so many times that they are usually just noise in the background as I’m getting ready or cleaning up. In honor of Flare Month coming up, I wanted to share my list of binge worthy shows on Netflix.

This is an obvious choice but I still couldn’t leave it off the list. I never really watched Friends when it was on TV but in college, the reruns got me through some boring nights stuck in the dorm room studying.

Hawaii Five-O

This is one show that is still actively making episodes on TV that I’m watching. Strangely, I don’t watch the new episodes; I wait until they come to Netflix. But I still binge watch the first 5 seasons over and over again. The characters are hilarious and because it’s set in Hawaii, it’s different from other cop shows.

A Different World

I grew up watching this show. My sister and I would willing get up at 5:30 am to watch 2 episodes before my dad woke up and watched the news. It was originally a spin off of the Cosby show that followed Denise to Hillman College. However, after the first season, Denise left the show and it followed the remaining characters through college and into the real world.

This is a Canadian show my younger sister introduced me to. It’s about the Canadian equivalent of a SWAT team. It’s so addicting! The story line is from a different perspective than most crime shows. These aren’t detectives or beat cops. They are simply SWAT that comes into defuse situations.

Last Man Standing

If you loved Home Improvement from the 90s, you will love Last Man Standing! The comedy is very similar. Tim Allen is gun toting, republican member of the NRA with 3 daughters, one of which is a liberal. Every episode makes me giggle. I highly recommend this show to anyone who enjoys comedies!

One Tree Hill

I watch this One Tree Hill for nostalgia purposes. I watched this show in high school and college. It follows a group of friends from high school through adulthood. I’ll be honest, the first season is pretty cheesy but that’s part of what I love about it. The characters are relatable, humorous and dramatic. There’s a little something for everyone.

I know. I know. Another cop show. I’m sorry! I can’t help it. I love crime shows! Growing up, I had aspirations of wanting to work for the FBI in forensics. NCIS is a spin off of JAG (which I also love) and follows a team of investigators that solve crimes for the Navy. You wouldn’t believe how funny some of the characters are. One of the best shows on TV!

What are your favorite Netflix shows or movies to watch? I’m always willing to try out new ones. Happy binge watching!

January Loves

How is it already January 31st tomorrow?! This month went by so quickly. I can hardly believe we are already a month into 2016. This year, I want to share more of my favorite things. I love watching these videos on YouTube and reading blog posts dedicated to favorites so in the off chance you are as nosy as me, here are my favorites from January.

Kate Spade Bag

I got this bag for Christmas and never leave on a shopping trip without it! It’s very structured, which I love and is big enough for my essentials, but not huge enough to pile it full of junk I don’t need. The neutral taupe color is great because it goes with anything I’m wearing.

Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I am so behind the bandwagon on this. My best friend sent this to me for my birthday last year and I just now got around to reading it. I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to like it simply because it’s an emotional story. However, I loved it! It’s emotional, raw and real which makes it an easy book to read. I don’t think I will be watching the movie however. That might be a little too emotional for me!

Golden Peach Sparkle

Everyone knows that I am obsessed with Bath and Body Works candles. Seriously, I have over 11 jars that are empty and need to be cleaned out (tutorial coming soon!). It’s kind of hoarding and I am fully aware of this but the jars are so handy! The Peach Bellini candle is one of my all time favorites and this Golden Peach is very similar. If you love fruity candles, you NEED this in your life!

Shea Body Butter

I’m very picky when it comes to lotions and body butters. I hate the greasy, sticky feeling that a lot of products leave behind. This Shea Body Butter from The Body Shop is an all time favorite! I love the subtle smell and it’s so moisturizing. It does have a bit of a greasy feeling but quickly soaks in to my skin.

I live in beanies in the winter. Not only do they keep my ears warm but they are so adorable! I got this blue metallic one last year from Kohls. I’ve been wearing it almost everyday it’s been cold, which has been pretty frequent this month.

Dove Dry Shampoo

I only recently started using dry shampoo. I used to wash my hair every other day or so and it was messing with my hair. I decided to try and go at least 2 days between washing my hair. I grabbed this dry shampoo a few months back but only recently began using it consistently. The smell is great and it doesn’t leave a residue in my hair. Plus, it’s drugstore and inexpensive!

Burt’s Bees Mango Lip Balm

This is one of my all time favorite lip balms. Not only is the smell amazing but it moisturizes my lips for longer than 5 minutes. A lot of times I find myself reapplying lip balm after about 5-10 minutes because my lips feel dry. This Burt’s Bees one, however, keeps my lips feel moisturized in the dry winter weather.

Making a Murderer

I know everyone is talking about this docuseries but I had to mention it. I am a lover of crime drama so when I first saw this pop up on Netflix, I was intrigued. I’ll be honest, the first episode is kind of boring. But stick with it! The rest of the series completely sucked me in. I literally binged watched the entire series in one weekend. The best and worst part of the show, is not knowing what I believe actually happened. It really is a mystery!

Tell me what you love in the comments. I love trying new things. Plus I’m really nosy!

Netflix Confessions

Hi! I’m Tanya and I’m a Netflix addict. If you’re anything like me, then you turn on Netflix intending to watch an episode or two of your current favorite show and before you know it, it’s 2 am and you’re finished with the entire season. Yep, that’s me!

I don’t have one specific genre of television or movies that is my favorite, instead I have a really eclectic queue on Netflix. In honor of having a free weekend with nothing scheduled (this never happens) I plan to spend the weekend being lazy and having a Netflix marathon. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite in case you’d like to have a lazy weekend as well.

Friends. This is an obvious choice. An oldie but a goody. I watch Friends all the time; when I’m cleaning, doing my makeup, need noise to sleep to. It’s a really problem. Even my dogs like watching Friends (seriously, they lay between me and the laptop for hours for this show only!).

Bones. I discovered this show earlier this year when I couldn’t find anything else to watch. I was sucked in almost immediately. I love the dynamic between FBI Agent Booth and Dr. Brennan a.k.a.Bones, a forensic anthropologist working for a museum. I love crime dramas and this is a great one. There are currently nine seasons on Netflix with the tenth most likely coming very soon.

One Tree Hill. Be still my heart. Who doesn’t love cute boys playing basketball? I lived for this show when it was still running. The first season is really cheesy but gets better with each season. The shows follows a group of friends from high school into adulthood. There are ten seasons total and I wish there was more!

a different world

A Different World. I’ve loved this show for years. My sister and I used to get up early, on weekdays, to be able to watch two episodes each morning before school. It’s actually a spin-off of The Cosby Show but after the first season, it takes on a life of its own.

hawaii five 0

Hawaii Five-0. Another crime drama but this time set in Hawaii. What’s not to love? I like the story line and the characters are complex with detailed story lines but they aren’t difficult to follow. The downside is this is a show that is still on TV so there are only four season on Netflix right now. Hopefully more to come.

What are your favorite shows to binge watch? I’m always looking for new shows to try.
